The Great Ocean Road has so much to offer.
When holidaying in Apollo Bay rest a sure that no matter what age, you and your kids will have plenty to do.
We are known for our world famous beaches and crystal clear waters, the bay like shape not only gives Apollo Bay its name it also keeps hard swells and dangerous rips at a minimum.
Please note there is only one patrolled beach in Apollo Bay, it is located just opposite the Surf Life Saving Club, when wanting to enjoy a swim or simply wanting to play in or near the ocean with your kids, please be aware to do so in between the flags for maximum safety.
Sea and sand is not the only thing we have to offer, let me tell you about some great activities you and your family will love.
Once you dried the kids and yourself, head to The Otway Fly, enjoy the breathtaking views from the treetop walk or soar through the leafy crowns of the rainforest on one of their zipline tours. A great way for kids to learn about the secrets of the rainforest is their interactive Rainforest Ranger Trail, you will see there is something for the whole family to enjoy.
When on the way to the Twelve Apostles you might want to stop at the Great Ocean Road Eco Wildlife Park.
They are located on the Great Ocean Road between Lavers Hill and Princetown, just a 15 min drive from the famous Twelve Apostles.
They are a family owned business with the focus on education and preservation, for your chance to interact with some of Australia’s native wildlife visit them and their hands on petting area. Entrance into the enclosures is permitted, and the opportunity to hand-feed kangaroos, wallabies, emu and deer, will give you an experience you will never forget.
They have now completed their Dingo petting area which allows you the unique opportunity to interact, face to face, with a truly incredible animal, the Australian Dingo.
All in all it will be a great day out for young and old surrounded by nature and our true locals.
Another great way to spend the day is to pay a visit to the Cape Otway Lightstation, learn about the history of the lightstation and their keepers, local aboriginal culture and some great bush tucker on one of their guided tours.
Alongside great walks, majestic waterfalls, local arts and crafts and some of the most delicious food and drinks you can find, Apollo Bay is a great place to visit.
